Located in Hamilton, New York, United States, Colgate University is standing on a rural 575 acres land. The University is a private liberal arts college established in 1819. Jill Harsin is the present president of the university with the total endowment of university $883 million. The total number of the academic staff is 294 and the university has got 2,927 undergraduate students and 12 postgraduates. 
Before the university was named as Colgate University in 1890, the university was known Madison University in 1846. Colgate University became coeducational institute only in 1970.
